As September is 'International Health Month' i thought it would be a good time to discuss how we can incorporate wine into our healthy lifestyles and have a look (and taste!) of some wines that fall into this idea.
Wine, especially the red variety, has been studied extensively over many years with impressive findings suggesting it may protect against certain cancers, promote a longer lifespan, improve mental health, and provide benefits to the heart.
There are some wines high in Phenols and Resveratrol (don't worry i'll explain this!) that have been suggested lead to the 'French Paradox' - The observation that the French have a considerably low rate of heart disease despite a diet rich in wine and cheese! so, what if with a little intelligent drinking, you can taste the most amazing wines (and food) and be wonderfully healthy to enjoy it for much longer?
I'll also explain what Organic and Biodynamic wines, discuss the issue of 'Sulpher', 'Alcohol free' (don't worry this won't fall into the wine line up!) and low alcohol wines and what to pair with them.
We'll still have our usual cheese and meat boards though, because, you know... the French Paradox.
Tickets strictly limited and must be purchased in advance.
