Wine Club: Wines of South Africa

  • The Mount Edgecumbe Mount Ephraim Tunbridge Wells, England, TN4 9NP United Kingdom (map)

Today, South Africa is the ninth-largest producer of wine in the world and is one of the most prominent wine-producing countries in the Southern Hemisphere. With more than 300 years of winemaking history, it is often described as bridging the gap between the Old World and New World. The majority of wines are made using New winemaking techniques but often have more in common stylistically with their Old World counterparts. There’s excitement in the South African vinous scene today, as young winemakers who have travelled the world, gain inspiration, and come home to establish their own unique projects.

South Africa offers both fine wines and those of great value, amazing food pairing capabilities and many stories to tell with its rich history, flora and fauna and moving winemaking scene.

From Bordeaux blends, Pinotage to ‘Rhone Ranger’ varietals, this month we’ll be tasting through the Cape Winelands and discovering just how exciting the SA wine scene is!

As always, spaces are limited and tickets must be purchased in advance so don't delay, book yours today!
