Downderry Lavender Farm

Downderry is the country‘s benchmark lavender nursery, propagating over 95% of the plants for culinary, medicinal and decorative use.

Set in the peaceful beauty of a walled garden Downderry in Hadlow is the home of National Plant Collections of lavender and rosemary. Feast your eyes on a rainbow of colours, fill your head with fragrance.

We've kindly been offered a private summer tour of the gardens followed by tea and cake on Sunday 17th at 1.30pm for the discounted rate of £4 each. The tour lasts about an hour and includes:
A talk on the great diversity of lavenders
Demonstration lavender distillation
A look behind the scenes at how they grow, show and breed lavenders

The garden is only accessible through driving as it rather a walk from any nearby bus stops but i suggest once we know numbers of who would like to attend we can arrange car shares. There is a maximum capacity of 40 people per tour so do get your name down if you would like to join!

Should it be a lovely sunny summer afternoon (and even if its not!) there is discussion for following up with an afternoon pub lunch, if we can get an idea of numbers we can look into booking a table somewhere for this as well.

Be sure to RSVP on Facebook or via email if you'd like to join us.
